NBC News: Inside look at why Latinos are especially hard-hit by Covid

The risk of getting coronavirus in LA County has never been greater. And if you’re Latino, your chances of dying are twice as high as the rest of the population.

Latinos are also hospitalized around 3 times more often than white communities.

Dr. Edgar Chavez, founder of UCHC, was recently featured on NBC News as they took an inside look at why Latinos are especially hard-hit by Covid-19.

“It’s really hard for us to see our population, doing the work that nobody else wants to do, front facing exposing themselves to COVID, and then dying from COVID, and then not getting the health care that they need, not getting the vaccine fast enough,” says Dr. Chavez.
